PlayStation’s London Studio is working on the PS5 online game

PlayStation’s London Studio is working on a new PS5 online game.

The studio is best known for its work on Singstar and Blood and Truth, which used the microphone and VR peripherals respectively.

The news comes courtesy of a tweet from the studio related to new job opportunities presumably related to the new project.

“Newcomers will join at the perfect time to get involved in shaping our plans for a project that we are exceptionally passionate about!” reads the tweet.

No other details about the game itself are given, so it’s unclear exactly what it will be.

However, these job postings include positions in QA, Art, Design and Production, at multiple levels of seniority, suggesting that the game is still in its early stages. production stages.

A few more details are hidden in the job descriptions. The Senior Level Designer position requires experience in “designing maps for Co-op play (local or online)” as well as experience “on GaaS or ‘in-progress’ games“.

The Live Ops System Designer, meanwhile, will be tasked with “designing a metagame that encourages sustained, long-term engagement with our audience and forming a monetization and economy design that offers players real value for what they choose to spend with us”.

This potentially indicates an online multiplayer game in progress. However, there’s no mention of VR, so it’s unlikely to be for PSVR2 despite the studio working on games for Sony’s previous headset.

Either way, PlayStation Studios head Hermen Hulst is “delighted” with it.
